The Respect for Films Production "She Makes Comics" made its debut release on Netflix this October. The film traces the fascinating history of women in the comics industry and reveals the crucial role they have played in developing the stories and characters that have resonated through the years.
Jonathan Platt -- has overseen production for many longform concert DVD and specials including The Ramones “RAW”, Warp Tour 2003 and 2007, Chicago in Chicago Live, Grahan Parker, The World Baseball Classic Special Edition DVD for 2006 and 2009, as well as the Galerians Rion Anime.
Platt has also been involved with the film development and acquisitions for The Ramen Girl (Britney Murphy), Catacombs (Shannon Sossamon and Pink), REPO The Generic Opera (Alexa Vega and Sarah Brightman), The Hills (Paris Hilton). Jonathan has handled acquisitions of over 30 features, TV shows, and long form concerts.
As a producer, Jonathan has been involved with MLB.com Presents Japan Confidential for BEE TV/NTT Domo, award-winning feature documentary We Are X, Image Revolution, Man in the Camo Jacket, She Makes Comics and Cosplay Universe.
Jonathan McHugh -- has produced a wide array of feature films and documentaries starring top talent such as Justin Long, Kim Catrall, Zoe Saldana, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, David Zayas (Dexter), Sarah Brightman, Paul Sorvino, and many more.
He has worked with directors such as Morgan Spurlock, Robert Rodriguez, and has produced TV shows for Fuse and Discovery Channel starring Johnny Rotten, Ludacris, Cedric the Entertainer, Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Internet series such as “Crash Course to Stardom”, “The Weekly Comet”, and “Q Score.”
McHugh has directed music videos for up-and-coming as well as established artists such as Ivan Neville. Recent projects include his music documentary Janis Joplin: Little Girl Blue, and Man In The Camo Jacket. He is the executive producer of feature award-winning documentary We Are X, Image Revolution, She Makes Comics and Cosplay Universe.
